Sevilla are set to sign Lucas Stassin on loan from Saint-Étienne with an option to buy. The Belgian strengthens their striker ranks in the final hours of the window.

L’Équipe reports that the deal is a paid loan worth 2.5 million euros with a non obligatory 25 million option, exercisable until June 2027. Saint-Étienne will also retain 20% of any future capital gain.

Stassin has been authorised to travel to Seville and is expected to arrive on Tuesday at midday to complete formalities. He recently extended his contract in France to June 2029.

He will join Isaac Romero and Robbie Ure to complete Luis García Plaza’s attacking options. There remains scope for one further addition before the deadline.

Born in Belgium in 2004, he developed at Stade Brainois and Anderlecht, featuring for RSCA Futures, then spent time at Westerlo. He joined Saint-Étienne in 2024 for around 10 million euros.

He scored 12 goals in his first Ligue 1 season, then 11 after Saint-Étienne’s relegation to the second tier. At 1.83 metres and right footed, he is a classic centre forward who can also link play, with sharp movement and composed finishing.
