FC Nantes are in a familiar position, hovering just above the relegation zone in Ligue 1. Les Canaris currently sit 16th (in the relegation play-off spot) above the automatic relegation places, occupied by FC Lorient and AJ Auxerre, only on goal difference.
Luís Castro arrived highly rated in the summer, replacing Antoine Kombouaré, who has succeeded in keeping the club in the top-flight, but did not succeed in taking the club any higher. That was the task that Castro inherited and he has found it difficult.
Nantes have just one win in their last nine league games ahead of Sunday’s game against Lorient. As per a report from RMC Sport, Castro must not lose this game if he has designs on keeping in the post at the Beaujoire.
Speaking on RMC Sport show Rothen S’enflamme, Jerome Rothen said that there is a 99% chance that the Portuguese manager would be sacked in the event of a defeat.
