Bayern Munich forward Luis Díaz has been omitted from Colombia’s squad for the upcoming international break after a difficult start to the season.

He will remain in Munich to rest and work on his fitness. According to iMiaSanMia, Colombia coach Néstor Lorenzo said he spoke with Díaz, felt he looked tired and lacked his usual sprint, and they agreed he should rest this week because he has played more than 60 games.

The decision was taken in cooperation between Bayern and the Colombian Football Federation.

Colombia will face Mexico, Paraguay and Peru in friendlies without him.

Díaz is expected to start when Bayern host 1. FC Union Berlin in the Bundesliga on Friday, which is their final match before the break.
