Luis Enrique has the chance to enhance his formidable finals record when PSG face Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday at 21:00.

According to L'Équipe, since 30 May 2015, the date of his first senior final with Barcelona against Athletic Bilbao in the Copa del Rey, won 3-1, he has lifted 16 of 19 finals.

The most recent came in late May, the Champions League with PSG against Arsenal, 1-1 then 4-3 on penalties.

Counting only one-off club finals, excluding Spain’s Nations League defeat to France in 2021, 1-2, and the Spanish Super Cups played over two legs at the time, his record stands at 15/16. The sole loss under those criteria came in July 2025, the Club World Cup final, where PSG fell to Chelsea 0-3.

Notably, his last four finals with PSG have all been won on penalties. The three before Arsenal were Tottenham in the 2025 UEFA Super Cup, 2-2 then 4-3 on penalties, Flamengo in the 2025 International Cup, 1-1 then 2-1 on penalties, and Marseille in the latest Trophée des Champions, 2-2 then 4-1 on penalties.
