Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique is at the centre of controversy after hitting Chelsea ace Joao Pedro following an ill-tempered conclusion to their Club World Cup clash on Sunday.
The Ligue 1 club went into the game as the favourites but endured a first-half battering they could not recover from.
Chelsea spent much of the second half eating up time and frustrating their eager opponents.
Tempers started flaring, and PSG midfielder Joao Neves was dismissed for a tug on Marc Cucurella’s hair. They had been going at it all game.
Enrique was visibly frustrated as Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo escaped two situations where he could have received a second yellow card.
Chelsea and PSG players clashed in the centre of the pitch at full time.
Pedro pushed PSG players and Enrique back, but the Spanish tactician struck Pedro before Gianluigi Donnarumma stood over the striker.
His actions could be construed as violent conduct, and he might face charges from FIFA. Enrique did not cover himself in glory and faces the prospect of a lengthy ban and heavy punishment.
Enrique watched Chelsea tactically outclass his acclaimed Champions League winners.
Cole Palmer decimated Les Parisiens with two sublime goals and a sumptuous assist for Pedro in an unforgettable 3-0 win.
However, that was no excuse for what the PSG manager did. Enrique showed himself a sore loser of the highest order, lashing out when composure was needed most.
