Luiz Henrique could join Brazil’s €20m transfer club as seven biggest deals listed | OneFootball

Brazilian clubs have made only seven signings worth €20m or more, all in the past two years, two each by Flamengo, Palmeiras and Botafogo, plus one by Cruzeiro. According to Globo.com, Flamengo director José Boto underlined that while chasing Atlético de Madrid’s Thiago Almada, the club moved for Luiz Henrique, who would also reach that bracket.

The €20m line has become a benchmark of a new era. Top of the list is Lucas Paquetá, who rejoined Flamengo from West Ham in January for €42m on a five-year contract.

Gerson sits second, Cruzeiro agreeing €27m plus €3m in bonuses with Zenit and handing a four-year deal.

Third is Vitor Roque, signed by Palmeiras for €25.5m after a loan spell from Barcelona to Real Betis, on a five-year contract.

Palmeiras also paid €25m for Jhon Arias in June, with instalments over four years to Wolverhampton. Fluminense tried to sign him but lost out.

In 2024, Botafogo bought Thiago Almada for $25m, $22m guaranteed plus $3m in add-ons, a conversion of €22.2m. He briefly topped the nominal charts, now he ranks fifth.

Flamengo’s €22m purchase of Samuel Lino from Atlético de Madrid followed in 2025. Botafogo then spent €22m on Danilo from Nottingham Forest to replace Gregore, sold to Al-Rayyan.

These deals reflect different models, from financially robust Flamengo and Palmeiras to Cruzeiro’s new investor Pedro Lourenço, and Botafogo moves made under John Textor, who no longer runs the club.
