Luken Beitia extends Real Sociedad contract until 2030 | OneFootball

Real Sociedad have extended Luken Beitia’s contract until 2030, the club announced on Friday.

The Elgoibar-born centre-back is regarded as one of the club’s most promising defenders. After 27 appearances and 2,328 minutes in the Segunda with Sanse, he delivered one goal and one assist.

The end of Duje Caleta-Car’s loan and the departure of Aritz Elustondo leave Beitia, alongside returning defender Jon Pacheco, as the current alternative at centre-back to Jon Martin and Igor Zubeldia.

Beitia is working with the first team in pre-season. He has already featured in three La Liga matches, totalling 101 minutes.

With Pellegrino Matarazzo set to shape four places across the back line for the coming campaign, Beitia is a clear candidate to claim one of them.

Following this extension, he appears well placed to play a significant role for Matarazzo in 26/27.
