FLW's Luton Town fan pundit has provided their thoughts on whether Ali Al-Hamadi could have a positive impact for the rest of the season
Luton Town's return to League One hasn't been a memorable one, and whilst it has been another disappointing year at Kenilworth Road, there is enough time remaining to make amends.
After suffering back-to-back relegations from the Premier League down to League One, Luton have endured another disappointing season, and whilst they have avoided the threat of relegation this time around, many Hatters fans will be severely underwhelmed with their side this campaign.
Under the current Oxford United boss, Matt Bloomfield, it was hoped that he would be the man to take the Hatters back to the second tier at the first time of asking, following his excellent work previously with Wycombe Wanderers.
However, his time at the helm wouldn't last, and former Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere was appointed as his replacement in his first job as a head coach in first-team football.
Things haven't exactly been rosy under Wilshere, with the club now six points off the play-off places with seven games to go, and needing to undergo some seriously good form to break into those places between now and then.
With the international break providing a chance for the squad to catch their breath ahead of the last phase of the season, some players have been away with their countries, and one player in particular will be hoping to take his performances on the global stage back to the Hatters for the remainder of the campaign.

Iraqi forward Ali Al-Hamadi has had a difficult campaign on a personal level, joining Luton on loan for the campaign from Ipswich Town, but has started just once in the league for the Hatters, with a mix of injuries and competition limiting his minutes.
However, during this international break, the 24-year-old went away with Iraq for their crucial World Cup Qualification play-off game against Bolivia, in which he netted the opening goal after just ten minutes on the way to a 2-1 victory for the Asian nation to qualify for the tournament for the first time in 40 years.
Football League World's Luton fan pundit, Simon, has provided their thoughts on whether, following his important goal for Iraq, Al-Hamadi can have a positive end to what has been a disappointing year for the forward.
Simon said: "Well, there's not really much time left to make an impact on the squad for the rest of the season.
"I think that after the weekend's results, it may be a touch too far for us to achieve, but if Al-Hamadi comes back from international duty and scores some goals, who knows?
"It's been a very disappointing season for Al-Hamadi and for Luton with issues beyond his control, with the injuries and the stop-starts.
"I'm sure he's just as upset as anybody else that it's not gone quite right this season, because I still stand by the belief that Luton Town is the right place for him.
"And, if we can get him firing, if we take him on permanently, which I think there's an obligation, then fingers crossed that we can get the best out of him, and he can stay fit."

Having barely seen him in Luton colours this season, Wilshere will be hoping that Al-Hamadi's performance for Iraq can carry over to Luton for the remainder of the campaign.
Most importantly for the Iraqi international is his fitness, which, for both Luton and his own good, must be a priority for him to keep intact for the next few months.
The Hatters will need him fit and firing ahead of a late push for the top six, and his country will certainly need him when they head to North America this summer.
What has been a difficult year for both player and club can still very well end on a high note, as Wilshere must use Al-Hamadi's performance for his country to propel Luton into the play-off places, and, hopefully for them, back into the Championship, against the odds.
Al-Hamadi has proven he can lead a side to glory against the odds with Iraq, and now he can do the same with Luton.
