Lyon and Rayo Vallecano have found an agreement over the signing of Senegalese international midfielder Pathé Ciss (28), according to a report from Foot Mercato. The player has already given the green light for the move to go ahead. Lyon would pay €6m to their Spanish counterparts, if the deal is successfully agreed and delivered before the winter transfer window slams shut tonight.
Lyon have been in the market for a midfielder throughout the window, and have begun to scramble around with just hours remaining. In the past hours, Tiémoué Bakayoko and Sevilla midfielder Fernando have both been linked with moves. The former is proving complicated due to Chelsea’s insistence that AC Milan pay compensation to terminate the Frenchman’s loan, whilst Sevilla rejected Lyon’s approach for the latter.
Ciss has played 54 games with Rayo Vallecano, scoring four goals and delivering one assist. He was tied to a contract with La Liga’s current seventh-placed side until 2025.
