According to a report from L’Équipe, Olympique Lyonnais are closing in on a deal to sign Venezia and USMNT midfielder Tanner Tessmann (22).
Lyon have already invested significantly this summer, notably signing Moussa Niakhaté and Georges Mikautadze for considerable fees. With the transfer window deadline approaching, the club are more focused on outgoings in order to meet the figure of €100m in player sales that was touted in their DNCG meeting earlier this year.
However, OL aren’t completely finished with incomings either. It is a sector that Pierre Sage has wanted to bolster further, and according to L’Équipe, Tessmann has emerged as the priority. The defensive midfielder recently captained the USMNT at the Olympic Games in Paris and has already agreed to join Les Gones. The Ligue 1 side must now reach an agreement with their Italian counterparts with a five-year deal awaiting Tessmann, should negotiations bring about a positive outcome.
