According to L'Équipe, Rémy Descamps could start in place of Dominik Greif when Lyon visit Anderlecht on Wednesday at 21:00. Paulo Fonseca’s side are expected to make changes for the Europa League opener.
Lyon, knocked out by Fenerbahçe in the Champions League play-offs after a 1-1 draw and 1-2 defeat, now launch their Europa League campaign. Last season they topped the league phase before falling to Celta Vigo in the round of 16, 1-1 then 0-2.
Their first assignment is in Belgium against Anderlecht, fourth last season and currently seventh after six matches.
Unbeaten in Ligue 1, Lyon want a brighter attacking display than in Paris, where they drew 0-0 with PFC at Jean-Bouin. Captain Corentin Tolisso accepted they must do much better in attack, reflecting his coach’s frustration at the lack of chances.
Since returning from Paris they trained on Sunday afternoon and Monday morning, including focused finishing work. The final session is scheduled for Tuesday at 11:00 before a 17:00 flight to the Belgian capital. With Rennes visiting on Saturday at 20:45, further changes are possible, with Keito Nakamura a possibility on the left and Clinton Mata potentially gaining minutes.
