L’Équipe report this afternoon that Lyon central defender Damien Da Silva could be set to join Melbourne Victory, with the Australian transfer window still open until February 7.
The Frenchman has only made seven appearances in the league this season, seeing his playing time decrease from last season, where he featured 22 times in all competitions. He may be the next Ligue 1 veteran to head down under after Morgan Schneiderlin left Nice for Western Sydney Wanderers towards the end of last month.
Melbourne have established contact with Les Gones, and the 34-year-old, whose contract expires at the end of the season, has already agreed to a move abroad.
Da Silva had joined Lyon at the start of last season from Rennes, where he was a regular fixture for the Bretons for three seasons, after making the move from Caen. He has previously turned out for Châteauroux, Rouen, as well as formative club Chamois Niortais.
