Lyon fans unveil banner backing Saint-Étienne ultras amid dissolution threat

Lyon supporters unveiled a banner backing Saint-Étienne’s ultras before kick-off against Lorient on Sunday, with the groups currently subject to a dissolution procedure by the Interior Ministry.

According to L'Équipe, the message was displayed in the Virage Nord at Groupama Stadium, home to the Bad Gones, as both sides warmed up ahead of the Ligue 1 matchday 29 fixture.

The banner expressed opposition to the proposed dissolution of Saint-Étienne supporter groups.

The two principal ASSE ultra groups, the Magic Fans and the Green Angels, are the ones targeted by the procedure. In April 2025 they faced similar threats, then received a reprieve.

They are scheduled to appear before a commission at place Beauvau on Monday.
