Lyon set to sign Peruvian midfielder Renato Tapia from Celta Vigo | OneFootball

Following the restrictions on their transfer business announced this week by the DNCG – French football’s financial watchdog – Lyon have been moving ahead with their recruitment campaign this summer, albeit with precaution.

Having already confirmed the signing of young midfielder Skelly Alvero from Sochaux, Les Gones are now closing in on another reinforcement. According to L’Équipe, Celta Vigo midfielder Renato Tapia will join the Ligue 1 side as well – provided the DNCG approves of the signing.

The 27-year-old Peruvian international is set to sign for a fee in the region of €5m, with Lyon also setting up a friendly with the Galician outift for the end of the month – presumably as part of the deal.

The defensive midfielder had spent the majority of his career in The Netherlands – chiefly at Twente and then Feyenoord – before joining Celta Vigo three seasons back, and has since made close to a century of appearances for the Spaniards. He was a long-time target of Lyon’s new head of recruitment, Matthieu Louis-Jean.
