Madonna says Celta Vigo’s missing 1990 shirt is in her archives | OneFootball

Madonna said in a post on X that Celta Vigo’s missing shirt, worn during her 1990 concert at the club’s stadium, is hanging in her archives. Her message followed an appeal from the La Liga club to help trace the garment.

Club president Marian Mourino Terrazo had issued an open letter earlier this week, describing the top as part of Celta’s emotional heritage and asking for assistance in finding it. The Galician side currently sit sixth in Spain’s top flight.

The letter recalled that on 29 July 1990 the singer performed at Balaidos and took to the stage in Celta’s sky blue shirt. The image has long resonated with supporters.

Before Friday evening’s match against Real Madrid at Balaidos, the club screened footage from that concert. A band, dancers and singers also performed Like A Prayer on the pitch.

The plea ended by inviting Madonna to get in touch via direct message if she knew where the shirt was or wished to join the search to retrieve it.

Madonna, 67, is the bestselling female artist of all time as of 2023, when Guinness World Records last certified the mark. She has 13 UK number one singles and 12 number one albums, and is known for hits including Like A Virgin, Holiday and Into The Groove.
