Sky Germany's sources can confirm that Stefan Posch is seemingly destined for a permanent return to FSV Mainz 05.

The Bundesliga club has reportedly reached an agreement with Serie A side Como on a transfer fee of around €4million.

With the arrival of Borussia Dortmund's Yan Couto on a year-long loan, Como no longer have a need for the Judenburg native.

Staying at Mainz was the clear wish both Posch himself, head coach Urs Fischer and those responsible on the board.

The Austrian national team player is currently undergoing his medical check and will sign his contract if passes successfully.

At the start of the month of August, Mainz initiated negotiations with Como regarding the transfer of the 29-year-old.

Posch communicated that he wanted to stay in Germany and Mainz even said they were ready to stretch their financial limits to get him.
