Castellón’s travelling support enjoyed a memorable night in Málaga as Pablo Hernández’s side won at La Rosaleda, with goodwill between fanbases and a brief medical scare.
According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, some fans spent the weekend there, while others, including the Fedpecas coach, made a same-day round trip, hopeful out, jubilant back.
A young woman felt unwell in the away end, received treatment, then was taken to a Málaga hospital and admitted. She was expected to return today to the capital of la Plana with companions.
The fanbases mixed without incident, tied by long friendship and parallel climbs from Primera RFEF to Segunda, last year’s survival and this season’s rise. A peaceful welcome greeted the team buses, with a home majority.
The match gripped albinegrismo, with more than 400 orelluts in Málaga, others following in Castellón and a Paris meeting by the Penya Albinegra de París.
Scarves reading ¿Y si sí? were spotted. Made in Morella, they are on sale with the Mediterráneo newspaper at kiosks for 10 euros.
Officiating worries remain after a highly debatable penalty against Barri, echoing the inexplicable call on Salva Ruiz in the first half of the season. Castellón came from behind again, hoping VAR and referees keep a clear line. Club president Bob Voulgaris said both must improve, with much at stake.
Attention now turns to Saturday, when Castellón host Córdoba at SkyFi Castalia at 18.30, after winning at a ground where none had since September.
