Malen was forced to miss the Netherlands squad due to a knee problem he suffered during Roma-Inter.

The Dutch striker underwent tests: the advice was to be cautious. This is why the former Aston Villa player was unable to participate in his national team’s matches.

The 1999-born player hasn’t trained with the group in recent days, or what little there was left of it at Trigoria, and has undergone physiotherapy to avoid overloading his muscles.

Gian Piero Gasperini has granted the team four days of rest, and they will return to training on Tuesday afternoon.

As Corriere dello Sport reports, Malen will continue individual training and then gradually return to training with his teammates. No one at Trigoria wants to rush things, given such a long break.

Roma will play in Como on October 11th: the Dutch striker can recover slowly and then show off his full potential. His stats are incredible: 23 games and 21 goals in Serie A, an average that allows Gasperini’s team to start games with a one-goal advantage.
