RCD Mallorca star Antonio Raíllo has revealed his take that Barcelona wide-man Raphinha was responsible for a challenge more dangerous than the one which culminated in teammate Vedat Muriqi being shown a red card on Saturday.
Barcelona of course kicked the defence of their La Liga title into gear yesterday evening, by way of a trip to Son Moix.
When all was said and done, the Blaugrana emerged on the right side of a dominant 3-0 result.
Their triumph, though, did not come without its controversies…
After Mallorca were left furious with the visitors’ 2nd of the evening being allowed to stand, the Bermellones’ then saw not one, but two players sent off before the half-time break.
And as alluded to above, of the opinion that Barcelona were a short time later altogether lucky not to be reduced to 10 men themselves is Antonio Raíllo.
Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle on Saturday, defender Raíllo drew attention to a dangerous tackle on the part of Raphinha late in the first-half, explaining:
“Yes, well… Raphinha’s tackle was much more serious than Muriqi’s, which was without bad intentions…”
