Mallorca ‘to negotiate’ with Alavés for Jesús Owono as Leo Román replacement

RCD Mallorca have set their sights on Jesús Owono to strengthen their goalkeeping options for next season, according to Última Hora Mallorca.

The report says the club are ready to open talks with Deportivo Alavés and would pay a transfer fee for the Equatorial Guinea international.

Owono, 25, spent last season on loan at FC Andorra after limited opportunities in Vitoria, gaining regular minutes.

His Segunda División displays have lifted his profile and drawn interest from several sides, with Mallorca aiming to increase competition in a key role.

Alavés retain his registration and will determine his future as he remains under contract.

Discussions between the clubs could quicken in the coming days if Mallorca make a formal offer, with the objective of securing a strategic addition as soon as possible.
