Having left Premier League club Crystal Palace at the end of last season as his contract expired, former PSG, Liverpool and France defender Mamadou Sakho is expected to soon return to Ligue 1.
Midi-Libre report that Montpellier are expecting the player to arrive in southern France in the coming days before offering the 31-year-old a contract which should be signed by Monday at the latest.
Montpellier are looking to bolster their centre-back position after veteran defenders Hilton (43) and Daniel Congré (36) both departed at the end of last season. Sakho would join Flamengo defender Thuler (22) as one of MHSC’s first major window additions under new coach Olivier Dall’Oglio.
