Mamelodi Sundowns settled for a share of the spoils with Marumo Gallants in their Betway Premiership encounter on Wednesday evening.
Prolific forward Iqraam Rayners broke the deadlock in the 28th minute, before midfielder Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo leveled matters six minutes later at the Dr. Petrus Molemela Stadium.
As a result, the defending champions missed the chance to go back to the summit of the table as they remain in second place with 15 points – one behind log leaders Sekhukhune United.
For the Bloemfontein-based outfit, the stalemate saw them move up to ninth place on the log standings, having picked up eight points from six league outings.
Meanwhile, Stellenbosch FC had their sluggish start to the season compounded as they succumbed to a 2-1 defeat to AmaZulu at Princess Magogo Stadium.
Stellies are in an unfamiliar territory in 13th place, while Usuthu extended their unbeaten run to four games and ascended to fifth place.
Elsewhere, Polokwane City came back from behind to secure a 2-1 victory at the expense of Golden Arrows, thanks to Puleng Marema’s last-gasp winner at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
In KZN, Richards Bay played to a one-all draw with TS Galaxy at uMhlathuze Sports Complex as Mlungisi Mbunjana canceled out Wandile Ngema’s opener for the Natal Rich Boys.
