Liverpool are facing growing unease over the contractual situation of Dominik Szoboszlai, according to AS. The Hungarian midfielder is reportedly earning around €135,000 a week, a figure that falls well below the pay scale of his European counterparts.

The report adds that both Real Madrid and Manchester City are keeping close tabs on the player’s situation. At 25, Szoboszlai has become one of Liverpool’s most influential figures, but his salary now looks modest compared to others in his position: Jude Bellingham is said to earn around €400,000 per week at Real Madrid, Bernardo Silva €300,000 at Manchester City, Bruno Fernandes €300,000 at Manchester United, and Jamal Musiala about €360,000 at Bayern Munich.

Liverpool are believed to be preparing a long-term contract renewal until 2030, with an improved salary package to reflect his importance. Club insiders reportedly feel his energy, leadership and creative output have made him one of the pillars of Arne Slot’s evolving team.
For Liverpool supporters, Szoboszlai’s situation stirs both pride and anxiety. Pride because he has rapidly become a symbol of the club’s new era, carrying the intensity and creativity that define the modern Anfield midfield. Anxiety because the figures quoted show just how far his current deal trails those of his peers across Europe.
Many fans believe that Szoboszlai’s impact, particularly in big games, warrants a pay rise. His ability to press relentlessly, create chances, and strike from distance has already drawn comparisons to the midfield icons who once dominated under Jürgen Klopp. In a market where loyalty is often tested by financial temptation, supporters know how vital it is for Liverpool to secure key assets before rivals make their move.
A renewal until 2030 would send a strong message that Liverpool intend to build around their Hungarian star. Fans will hope the club acts quickly, rewarding a player who has not only embraced the shirt but embodied the values that have long defined Liverpool Football Club.
