Over the coming weeks, FC Barcelona will likely look to accelerate their various negotiations. As more time passes, it will become more difficult to get their key targets given the nature of the market. For Barcelona, wrapping things up in a timely fashion could prove to be a major factor behind signing key targets.

Beyond the arrival of a left-winger and a new pivot, FC Barcelona also have some other arrivals in mind. The incorporation of a new fullback is also looked upon favorably and Barcelona have some names on their mind already, with three of their backup options having been revealed recently.

Their priority, however, remains signing Joao Cancelo from Manchester City once again. Barcelona want another loan for the 30-year-old Portuguese star, but it seems that Manchester City have different plans for the future of the versatile fullback.

According to SPORT, the only way Manchester City are going to let go of Joao Cancelo this summer is through a permanent transfer. The Citizens do not wish to accept the route that Barcelona are hoping to take in the form of a loan, and they would much rather just permanently sell the player.

While the interest from Barcelona is constant, the formula is not what the Citizens are looking for. Instead, the recent interest that has arrived from some Saudi Arabian sides is much more up their alley. The Middle Eastern sides want to permanently purchase the Barcelona target, and Manchester City are on board with it.

Currently playing for Portugal in the European Championship, Cancelo has showcased his quality once again. While Manchester City may not want him back, Barcelona still do. Moreover, Cancelo remains unbothered by the interest from Saudi Arabia as of right now, and Barcelona are hoping his dedication to returning to the Catalan club can be useful.

Similar to last summer, Barça are hoping his intention to return to Catalonia can end up being enough to convince Manchester City later on. For now, the determination of the Premier League champions seems absolute, but the Catalans still possess the trust of the player and will be counting on it to pull through.
