Man City ‘to move for’ Geronimo Rulli as James Trafford nears Leeds

Fabrizio Romano reports that Manchester City want Marseille’s Argentina international Geronimo Rulli to replace James Trafford, who is closing in on a move to Leeds United.

Leeds are set to break their transfer record to make Trafford their new no 1 in a deal worth £40m plus add-ons.

City signed Trafford from Burnley last summer, but the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma left him as the club’s no 2. His expected switch to Leeds would leave City seeking a new back-up goalkeeper.

Rulli, 34, is understood to be open to the move and Marseille are aware of the interest.

As of Wednesday evening, Trafford’s transfer was not fully completed, though there was confidence at Leeds that it would go through.
