Pep Guardiola will have to make changes tonight as Manchester City head to Burnley looking to take control of the Premier League title race.

The Man City boss has been afforded the luxury of naming an unchanged team for wins against Chelsea and Arsenal.

In fact, the only alteration Guardiola has made since the Carabao Cup final win over the Gunners is Gianluigi Donnarumma replacing James Trafford in between the posts.

A nice break in between fixtures, as a result of their Champions League exit, has ultimately been the catalyst for the Spaniard sticking with a core group of players as Man City bid to complete a domestic treble.

Though with an FA Cup semi-final tie against Southampton on the horizon, Guardiola has hinted at rotation for the trip to Turf Moor.

"In these last games I played more or less the starting XI because we had six, seven, eight days between games,” he said after the win over Arsenal.

“But now we go to Burnley and then London to play Southampton and these guys cannot play all the time. If you are a good team, we can do it together."

One change will be enforced as Rodri will miss out due to a groin issue suffered during the win over Arsenal. Given the midfielder’s injury nightmare throughout 2025, he won’t be risked unless fully fit.

"I think for tomorrow he will not be ready,” Guardiola said on Tuesday.

“We will see for the FA Cup semi-final against Southampton."

Ruben Dias is nearing a return after missing the last four games, but the Burnley fixture comes too soon for the Portugal international which means Abdukodir Khusanov will continue to partner Marc Guehi in central defence.

There could be changes behind Erling Haaland, as Antoine Semenyo, in particular, underwhelmed against Arsenal and will have the likes of Phil Foden, Savinho and Omar Marmoush pushing to replace him.

Taking into account that goal difference could decide this season’s Premier League champions, Guardiola may be tempted to go all-out attack in an attempt to beat Burnley by a large margin.
