Manchester United have announced the arrival of midfield prodigy David Eze from Manchester City.

“The 16-year-old, who progressed through the academy system at City, has also been capped by England at youth level.”

United had been working on a deal as part of the club’s broader ambitions to bolster their academy ranks, and now it has been confirmed that the transfer has been sealed.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Eze has put pen to paper on a pre-professional contract, which means that he will be on a professional deal once he turns 17.

Eze was given a tour of Old Trafford. It is understood that he was wanted by multiple European clubs, but United ultimately won the race for his signature.
