Manchester United need to bring an upgrade on Andre Onana, and it is no surprise that they are keeping tabs on the Dortmund star. Onana has been quite underwhelming this season and his inconsistent performances have cost the side dearly.

Manchester United need more competition for places and Kobel would be the ideal acquisition for them. He was linked with a move to Old Trafford last year as well.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper is at the peak of his powers, and he has proven himself in the Bundesliga over the years. There is no doubt that he is good enough for the Premier League and the opportunity to join Manchester United will be quite attractive for him. They are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and they will provide him with the platform to push for major trophies.

“In Dortmund, Gregor has developed into a goalkeeper of world-class calibre who has attracted the interest of many top clubs in Europe. We’re proud that we were able to inspire him to continue at BVB”,Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl said of him in the past.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are keen on securing his signature as well. Robert Sanchez has been quite underwhelming since joining the Blues and they are looking to bring in an upgrade. It remains to be seen whether they can win the race for the Dortmund star.

The player is reportedly valued at €60 million, and it will be interesting to see which of the two English clubs is willing to pay up for him. They have the resources to get the deal across the line.

Signing a quality goalkeeper could transform both clubs, and the investment could be worth it in the long term. Kobel is still only 27 and he could sort out their goalkeeping department for the foreseeable future.
