Last season, Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos was a prominent player for RC Strasbourg. After starring in Ligue 1, he returned to the Blues and he’s played a total of 378 minutes so far this season.

As a result, with the winter transfer window nearing, could the Brazilian be looking for a move for more playing time, especially with the 2026 FIFA World Cup right around the corner? Limited playing time won’t be enough for Santos to make the Brazilian squad.

A previous report from Fichajes said PSG and AC Milan are keeping an eye on Santos leading into this year’s summer transfer window. However, no move was made. As a result, could the Parisians revisit this file in January if a deal makes sense?

Fichajes reports that Manchester United have decisively entered the race for Andrey Santos, the Chelsea midfielder who is seeking more consistent opportunities to aid his development.

The Old Trafford club view the Brazilian as a long-term prospect but face resistance from Chelsea, who have no intention of easing his departure to a direct rival. Furthermore, the report notes that United are considering making an offer to convince the London club in the coming months.

At Chelsea, the young Brazilian has yet to secure regular playing time, opening the door to a potential transfer. It will be interesting to see if Manchester United can put together a plan that combines a convincing offer, guarantees of playing time for Santos, and a sporting rationale that would justify Chelsea’s decision to part ways with the young midfielder.

A loan deal with a purchase option could be viable if Chelsea are unwilling to agree to an immediate sale. In addition, United must present itself as an appealing destination for Santos, offering guaranteed minutes and a clear role in the team. On the other hand, Chelsea will only approve the move if the offer is substantial or the player is no longer part of their priority plans.
