Man Utd winger Amad is set to miss Saturday’s game against Brentford because of a family bereavement, boss Ruben Amorim has confirmed.

Amorim says the 23-year-old has returned home to be with his family and therefore will not be involved in the squad.

“It is a tough moment for him and in this moment the next game is not important,” Amorim said. “We can win this game without Amad and we want to win it for him.”

Lisandro Martinez also remains sidelined for the clash with Brentford, along with Noussair Mazraoui, who Amorim has revealed is set to be out until after the international break in October and therefore will not play for at least three more weeks.

Ahead of the clash with Brentford, Amorim admits he is still unsure what to expect from his side following a mixed start to the season.

“I don’t want to say playing well because we did that this year but it is normal that the fans don’t know what is going to happen in the next game,” he said.

“To be completely honest, I have an idea but I don’t know how it’s going to be and I’m the manager of the team. The best way of dealing with that is every game is the last one.

“It is not thinking about two games. The next game is the most important one for a long time at Manchester United. So let’s starting changing that feeling.”
