They got it from an unlikely source as Joshua Zirkzee ended his almost-year long wait for a Premier League goal with a crucial equaliser early into the second half. 

The Dutchman struggled in the harrowing defeat to Everton on Monday, but it was against the Toffees that he last netted in the league - 364 days ago. 

Since then, there have been goals in cup competitions, but his return to league form could not come at a better time for him or United. 

It is just his fourth goal in his Premier League since his move in the summer of 2024, and his first away from Old Trafford. 

Mason Mount - another unlikely scorer - then gave United the lead with what is also his fourth league goal for the club. 

The Reds held onto secure a massive three points and move above Palace on a fine afternoon for Ruben Amorim.
