Manacor - Villarreal in the Copa del Rey | OneFootball

The Yellow Submarine will travel to the Balearic Islands for the tournament’s first round

Villarreal now know their first opponents in the Copa del Rey. Íñigo Pérez’s side will face CD Manacor, who play in the Tercera Federación, in a single-leg tie to be held between October 27 and 29.

The match will take place in Mallorca, at the Balearic side’s home ground, as stipulated by the first-round format for ties between teams from different divisions. Manacor head into the clash in good form, having started the season with five wins from their first five league matches.

For Villarreal, this will be their first cup fixture of the season and a chance to begin their journey towards the latter stages. The gap between the divisions makes the Yellow Submarine favourites, although they will have to negotiate an away match with no room for error.

The fixture also comes during a demanding stretch of the schedule, with Villarreal competing in both LaLiga and the Champions League. The Copa del Rey has historically been a difficult competition for the Groguets, too.

October 27, 28 or 29
