Manchester City and Burnley have confirmed their starting lineups ahead of tonight’s Premier League match at Turf Moor. For Pep Guardiola’s side, a win will see them move to the top of the Premier League table. City have created an opening in the title race with their 2-1 win over Arsenal, and they’ll be determined to seize it. City face a Burnley side that has struggled this season, and it seems to only be a matter of time before their relegation back to the Championship is confirmed. However, they’ll be determined to put up a fight tonight so they won’t be a pushover at Turf Moor.
Manchester City have three players unavailable for selection for tonight’s match due to injury. Josko Gvardiol remains sidelined despite the Croatian defender making solid progress in his recovery from the right tibial fracture he sustained against Chelsea in January. There remains a chance that Gvardiol may return for Manchester City’s final matches of this season.
Ruben Dias isn’t ready to play tonight as per Pep Guardiola’s update yesterday. Dias has missed City’s past four matches due to a hamstring, and then an ankle injury. Rodri is out of tonight’s match due to the calf injury he sustained against Arsenal. It is hoped that Rodri’s injury isn’t a serious one and he is back on the pitch sooner rather than later.
Here are both team’s starting lineups for tonight’s match.
Pep Guardiola has made one change to the City starting eleven that beat Arsenal. In comes Rayan Ait-Nouri. Rodri misses out on tonight’s match due to injury.
Starting lineup: Gianluigi Donnarumma, Matheus Nunes, Abdukodir Khusanov, Marc Guéhi, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Bernardo Silva, Nico O’Reilly, Antoine Semenyo, Rayan Cherki, Jeremy Doku, Erling Haaland.
Substitutes: Trafford, Reijnders, Stones, Ake, Marmoush, Kovacic, Nico, Savinho, Foden.
