Manchester City have been in better shape in recent weeks. Offensively, Pep Guardiola can boast having almost his entire squad fit, from Erling Haaland to Phil Foden. Belgian international Jérémy Doku, who made a flying start to the season, has also proven to be indispensable on the flanks. However, the Cityzens will have to make do without the Belgian winger for their upcoming fixtures.

Indeed, on the eve of hosting Brentford in the League Cup quarter-finals, Guardiola confirmed that the former Rennes man will be sidelined for the next three weeks. "Jeremy will be out. Jeremy is out, John (Stones) and Rodri as well. The others, I think, will be ready. I don’t know (exactly when Doku will return). Maybe against Sunderland (on January 1, 9pm), to be sure…" the manager stated during the press conference.
