Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Boca Juniors youngster Agustín Almendra but are likely to wait until next summer to make their move.
Pep Guardiola is known to be looking for midfield reinforcements after they failed in their bid to sign Jorginho from Napoli earlier this year.
With Fernandinho not getting any younger and Phil Foden failing to cement his place in the first team squad, the Citizens are believed to be on the hunt for a midfield general.
And according to Sport Mediaset, that man is Almendra, who City have highlighted as one of the most exciting prospects in world football.
The 18-year-old has only played five times for Boca this term but has impressed on each occasion and has been the subject of admiring glances from Barcelona.
The reigning Premier League champions though, are looking to rival the Catalans and are ready to bid €20m for the teenager.
