Manchester City have been found guilty by an independent commission of 114 Premier League financial rule breaches.

The Premier League said in a statement that the main decision sets out systematic rule breaking over nearly a decade, and that sanctions will be considered at a later hearing.

City said it will challenge the findings, maintaining it is innocent of the accusations.

The case followed an investigation into alleged breaches between 2009 and 2018. The allegations include failing to provide accurate financial information and details of payments to players and managers, and breaching UEFA financial fair play, FFP, and the league’s profitability and sustainability rules, PSR.

The club can appeal the commission’s conclusions and has until Friday to do so.
