Manchester City have been found guilty of 114 of 115 charges of breaching Premier League financial rules, according to The Athletic on Friday. No sanction has yet been set.

The club are expected to appeal.

In February 2023, after a four-year investigation, the Premier League brought 115 charges, including 80 financial breaches from 2009 to 2018 and 35 for failing to co-operate.

A lengthy hearing ran from September to December 2024 before a three-member independent commission at a secret location, where both sides made their cases.

In 2020, UEFA imposed a two-year ban from European competition for alleged financial fair play violations, which was overturned on appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Since the 2008 purchase by Abu Dhabi United Group, led by Sheikh Mansour, City have piled up trophies. Under Pep Guardiola, from 2016 to 2026, they won six of the seven league titles between 2018 and 2024, plus the 2023 Champions League.

Potential penalties could include a points deduction or even expulsion from the Premier League. In 2024, Everton and Nottingham Forest were docked points for financial offences.
