Manchester City will need to be at their best to beat Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park today. Pep Guardiola’s side knows that beating Oliver Glasner’s side is no easy task given how well Palace have performed this season. Ahead of kickoff it emerged that Jeremy Doku hadn’t travelled with the City squad for today’s match. It has been revealed that the Belgian international has suffered a leg injury. City will now need to beat a high-flying Crystal Palace side without one of their most dangerous attacking weapons today.
Simon Bajkowski of Manchester Evening News has relayed a report from Pep Guardiola that Jeremy Doku has sustained a leg injury. That is the reason why Doku will miss today’s match against Crystal Palace. The severity of Doku’s injury hasn’t been revealed at this time. Jeremy Doku was replaced in the City starting lineup by Tijjani Reijnders for today’s match.

It is a massive blow for Manchester City to lose Jeremy Doku for today’s match. Doku has scored three goals and added six assists in all competitions for City this season. He has been one of Manchester City’s most dangerous attacking weapons from the left wing. His pace and dribbling ability have been a key component of Manchester City’s attacking play. The ability of Doku to drift centrally when City attack has also helped Pep Guardiola’s side open up their opponents. City will be without one of their key attacking players today which is a blow as they bid to beat a quality Crystal Palace side at Selhurst Park.
It now remains to be seen how long Jeremy Doku is sidelined for due to the leg injury he has sustained. But his absence is a cruel blow for Manchester City ahead of today’s pivotal match.
