Manchester City produced a dramatic late comeback to beat Bournemouth 2-1 and give Enzo Maresca a winning start to his Premier League reign at the Etihad Stadium.
City dominated possession during the opening stages and created several promising opportunities, but it was Bournemouth who broke the deadlock. Evanilson's clever ball across the area found Marcus Tavernier, who arrived unmarked to fire beyond Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Erling Haaland was presented with chances to restore parity before the interval, but the Norwegian struggled to find his usual clinical touch. Bournemouth also threatened on the counter, with Donnarumma forced into a couple of important saves.
City increased the pressure after the restart, with Haaland continuing to find himself in dangerous positions without being able to convert. Marc Guehi then made amends for an earlier missed header when he rose highest from Rayan Cherki's corner to level the contest with six minutes remaining.
The hosts pushed for a winner and got it deep into stoppage time. Josko Gvardiol found space inside the area before guiding a low effort into the far corner. The goal was initially ruled out for offside, but VAR overturned the decision.
