The Citizens reportedly want a fee more than £60m to sell their experienced midfielder, who is keen on a move to Barca.

It remains to be seen whether the La Liga giants return with a higher offer.

City would ideally want to keep Rodri as they view him as a key part of their plans for the 2026-27 season.

But with the player’s contract expiring in June 2027, they risk losing him for nothing next summer.

Madrid are also strongly linked with an interest in Rodri, and they are willing to spend up to £43m for his signature

But despite their weak negotiating position, City want a premium fee for their prized asset.

Rodri is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in the world. He is renowned for his passing, composure, aerial dominance and stamina.

The 30-year-old won the Golden Ball for his crucial role in helping Spain win the World Cup for the first time since 2010 this summer.

Rodri has won four Premier League titles, the Champions League, two FA Cups and three League Cups since joining City from Atletico Madrid in 2019.
