Manchester City, Tottenham and Chelsea youngsters headline England’s U17 World Cup squad

England have announced their 21-man squad for the U17 World Cup, which will take place in Qatar next month.
Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea players account for more than half of the squad.
The Young Lions have been placed in Group E for the 48-team tournament. They play Venezuela in their opening fixture, before facing Haiti and Egypt.
England are aiming to win the competition for the second time. Their first triumph was in 2017, when Man City star Phil Foden won the Golden Ball award.
Several exciting youngsters are in the squad, including Landon Emenalo, Jun’ai Byfield, Seth Ridgeon and Bradley Burrowes. They were included in our 2025 list of the best U18 Premier League talents.
Manchester United’s Bendito Mantato, Chelsea pair Reggie Walsh and Chizaram Ezenwata, and Tottenham’s Luca Williams-Barnett are other highly rated youngsters in the squad.
Goalkeepers: Jack Porter (Arsenal), Lanre Awesu (West Ham United), Dylan Moody (Southampton).
Defenders: Bendito Mantato (Manchester United), Jun’ai Byfield (Tottenham Hotspur), Kaden Braithwaite (Manchester City), Dante Headley (Manchester City), Landon Emenalo (Chelsea).
Midfielders: Harrison Miles (Manchester City), Freddie Simmonds (Brighton & Hove Albion), Luca Williams-Barnett (Tottenham Hotspur), Bradley Burrowes (Aston Villa), Louis Page (Leicester City), Reggie Walsh (Chelsea)
Forwards: Ryan McAidoo (Manchester City), Seth Ridgeon (Fulham), Alejandro Rodriguez (Olympique Lyonnais), Tynan Thompson (Tottenham Hotspur), Reigan Heskey (Manchester City), Igor Tyjon (Blackburn Rovers), Chizaram Ezenwata (Chelsea).
