Manchester City travel across town to Old Trafford on Sunday looking to maintain a perfect start to the Premier League season.
Enzo Maresca’s side sit top of the table after three straight wins, and victory in the derby would give City their first four wins to open a league campaign for a seventh different time — an outright record, surpassing Chelsea’s previous mark of six.
Erling Haaland has scored eight goals in seven Premier League appearances against United, though only two of those have come at Old Trafford, where City’s most recent visit ended in a 2-0 defeat under previous manager Pep Guardiola in January.
Jeremy Doku remains unavailable with the calf issue he aggravated in the Community Shield defeat to Arsenal last month, with Maresca saying: “Jeremy, I think he needs some more days.” Nico O’Reilly, who missed the win over Coventry and the trip to Porto with a back injury, has been passed fit, Maresca confirming: “Nico is 100% available.” No other fitness or injury concerns have been reported.
Enzo Fernandez impressed on his full debut against Coventry and set up Haaland’s goal at Porto, and is expected to keep his place in midfield alongside Elliot Anderson, meaning Ayyoub Bouaddi makes way. With Doku out, Iliman Ndiaye could come in on the left, while Matheus Nunes — back from an ankle issue — is set to compete with Abdukodir Khusanov for the right-back spot.
Manchester City possible starting XI (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Nunes, Guehi, Dias, Gvardiol; Anderson, Fernandez; Semenyo, Cherki, Ndiaye; Haaland
The Premier League match kicks off at 16:30 on Sunday, 13 September 2026.
The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League in the UK.
