To emphasise this point, Erling Haaland scored five goals for Norway in their 11-1 win over Moldova. Haaland looks in ominous form ahead of this weekend’s clash with Manchester United at the Etihad.
Norway hammered Moldova 11-1 tonight in their UEFA World Cup qualifier Group I fixture. The win saw Norway make it five wins from five matches in their World Cup qualifying campaign. The biggest story to emerge from the match was the performance of Erling Haaland. Manchester City’s number-nine scored five goals and added two assists in a dominant display.
Erling Haaland proved to be too powerful for the Moldovan defence. His finishing was a feature of his play, which was emphasised by the fact that he scored five goals. He also added two assists in a fantastic performance from Haaland. Haaland was also strong off the ball as he won his ground and aerial duels with ease. Moldova aren’t the strongest opponent, but the manner of Haaland’s performance was imposing. He looks to be heading into Sunday’s Manchester derby in prime form.
Pep Guardiola’s side begins a tough run of fixtures this weekend against Manchester United at the Etihad. Erling Haaland will have a key role to play in Sunday’s match and looks set to enter the derby in prime form.
