Manchester United have confirmed that defender Hannah Blundell has left the club upon the expiry of her contract.

The Red Devils announced the news via a post on their official club website this evening.

The 32-year-old leaves Manchester United after spending the last five years with the club. Blundell joined The Red Devils from Chelsea in summer 2021 and she went on to make 95 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring three goals. The defender was an Adobe Women’s FA Cup winner with Manchester United in 2023/2024 while she represented the club in their first European adventure in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Blundell missed the 2024/2025 season due to pregnancy and she celebrated the birth of her first child in March 2025. Since returning to playing professional football, Blundell added a handful of appearances to her tally at Manchester United before spending the second half of this season on loan at Everton where she got a regular run of games.

Two long-serving players have left Manchester United this summer. Forward Leah Galton has also moved on after spending eight years at Leigh Sports Village. Galton was a member of Manchester United’s original side which first played professional football in 2018/2019 in the old FA Women’s Championship.
