In a recent report, Fussball News revealed that Manchester United are locked in a three-way battle for Bayer 04 Leverkusen playmaker Ibrahim Maza. It has been mentioned that the Red Devils would have to compete with Arsenal and Manchester City in the race to land the Algerian youngster next year.

Maza’s Impressive Start To This Premier League

Maza enjoyed a good run of form at the German club as he put in a series of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 20-year-old scored one goal and picked up a couple of assists in four matches for Bayer 04 Leverkusen this season in all competitions.

The Algerian talent is currently among the most gifted young playmakers in the Bundesliga. However, it is no surprise that the Red Devils are in the running to land him this January or at the end of this campaign.

His current contract at the German club will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it difficult for Man United to sign him on a cut-price deal next year.

Manchester United Are Locked In A Three-Way Battle For Maza: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Maza is proficient at creating a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has the vision to engineer some decent chances in the final third and is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The Algerian talent can chip in by scoring and creating a few important goals for his team. Maza is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also fill in as a box-to-box midfielder or as a centre-forward if asked to do so. However, there are some question marks over whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Red Devils manage to get a deal done for him next year.

We can expect Maza to bring more quality and depth to Man United boss Michael Carrick’s attack in the long run. He is already good enough to serve as a good rotational piece in the Mancunian club’s squad.

At 20, Maza has the potential to be a future star in English football as long as he continues to improve with each season. He is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the long run, so Carrick would be wise to step up his efforts to sign him soon.
