Manchester United: Carrick keeps calm about his future
Since taking over the Manchester United dugout, Michael Carrick has been turning heads. The results speak for themselves, but the former midfielder refuses to get carried away by the excitement.
Appointed to see out the season after Rúben Amorim's departure, Carrick has kicked off his interim stint with memorable victories against Manchester City, Arsenal, Fulham, and most recently Tottenham. This string of results has reignited the Red Devils’ hopes in the race for European spots.
Despite this promising start, the 44-year-old coach remains clear-headed. With his contract set to expire in June, he prefers not to discuss a possible extension:
My role is clear: work for the good of the club. The rest is out of my hands.
While not ruling out staying on, Carrick insists that the collective goal comes first. Manchester United currently have 44 points from 25 games and sit 4th in the league table.
