However, INEOS are keen to ensure they are building for the future as well, and have their eye on a teenage sensation who enjoyed a remarkable season at youth level last time out.

Blackburn wonderkid

As reported by TEAMtalk, Blackburn Rovers’ academy product Ty Livesey has pricked the ears of United chiefs on the back of his exploits last year, which saw him register over 100 goal contributions across the Rovers youth sides.

Livesey is just 15 years old and is naturally gathering many admirers after his blistering campaign, which has made him one of the most sought-after youngsters in the country.

Livesey made his Rovers under-18s debut at just 14 years of age, highlighting his talents, and he is certainly making a name for himself in the younger age groups.

Blackburn are fearful that formal offers from Premier League clubs are not far away and may be forced to sell the wonderkid before he has made his first-team debut at Ewood Park.

Get in the queue

The report suggests all of the top clubs have registered their interest in Livesey, who looks like he will have the pick of the very best if and when he decides to leave the Championship club.

Along with United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are all “pushing hard” for the forward, who might just be the next big thing if he gets his development right.

INEOS will be hoping United’s rich history with developing young players will be enough to tempt him to Old Trafford to join the likes of JJ Gabriel as potential superstars for the future.

No official approach has been made by United as yet, but Livesey’s rise is certainly one to keep a very close eye on given his outstanding performance last season.
