According to BBC UK, Manchester United remain in talks with Leicester City over a deadline day move for midfielder Louis Page, with the club cautious about completing a deal before Tuesday's 11pm cut-off.

Officials are working to get it done and the fee would be well over £10m if it goes through. United's interest was first reported in August.

It is unclear what the immediate plan for the 18-year-old would be, given United have already signed three international midfielders as part of a summer rebuild. Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos have debuted, while Carlos Baleba, a £70m arrival from Brighton, will miss the next couple of weeks with a minor ankle issue.

Securing Page could ease supporter concerns on a quiet deadline day, though a left-back signing is not expected despite outside calls.

Netherlands forward Joshua Zirkzee had been anticipated to depart, but a proposed switch to Juventus did not materialise and he is increasingly likely to stay under Michael Carrick. There is still no update on young full-back Harry Amass's situation.

Page is highly regarded from Leicester's academy. On his first senior outing, a pre-season win over Peterborough last year, he scored twice and set the tone for his breakthrough. He is viewed as a modern number eight, strong carrying the ball and capable of a decisive pass, with a notably driven mindset.
