Red Devils are sweating over the fitness of some key players after draw with Tottenham

Manchester United are on the up after extending their unbeaten run to five matches.

That record was in serious danger of being broken at the weekend as the Red Devils trailed against Tottenham as late as the fifth minute of injury time.

However, a towering header from Matthijs de Ligt in the 96th minute rescued a point for Man Utd and ended a run of four straight defeats at the hands of the north London outfit.

What made the equaliser even more impressive was it arrived when Man United were down to ten men as Benjamin Sesko limped off after Ruben Amorim had used up all of his substitutions.

The dramatic draw does mean United have failed to win their final fixture before an international break for the first time this season, but it's certainly a point gained given the circumstances.

Amorim does have concerns over a few senior players ahead of his side's return to action against Everton and with that said, here’s a look at the latest Manchester United injuries.

Benjamin Sesko

The 22-year-old headed straight down the tunnel at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium shortly after being denied a goal by a superb recovery tackle from Micky van de Ven.

Sesko was clearly struggling with his knee and Amorim delivered a concerning update afterwards.

"That [his recent form] is not the biggest concern now," Amorim told reporters. "I'm concerned with an injury, because it is in the knee, and I don't know.

"We need Ben [Sesko] to be a better team. We have to check. He has something in his knee. Let's see."

At this stage, it is impossible to predict if Sesko is set for a short or long-term spell on the sidelines.

Potential return date: Unknown

Harry Maguire

Harry Maguire was restored to the Man Utd starting XI against Spurs after returning to the bench against Nottingham Forest the week before, on the back of sitting out the win over Brighton.

The central defender's afternoon came to an end much earlier than he would have liked because of a hamstring issue.

A two-week break may have arrived at the ideal time for Maguire as he can use it to make a full recovery.

Casemiro

Joining Sesko and Maguire on Man United's list of injury concerns is experienced midfielder Casemiro.

The Brazilian went off at the same time as Maguire, meaning the Red Devils conceded twice with him off the pitch.

Amorim has not said much about Casemiro which suggests the 33-year-old's issue is not too serious.

Kobbie Mainoo

Man Utd were dealt a blow before kick-off against Tottenham as Kobbie Mainoo was ruled out with a knock.

The midfielder's place in the squad was taken by youngster Jack Fletcher, son of former Man United midfielder and the club’s current Under-18’s coach, Darren.

This allowed United to preserve their proud record of having an academy player in every matchday squad for over 4,000 games, dating back to 1937.

Mainoo's knock has been described as minor, so he should be available for selection after the international break.
