Manchester United are planning to overhaul their midfield, with Casemiro set to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season.
The Red Devils want to sign two midfielders, but they could pursue a third if Manuel Ugarte also departs.
United have been linked with several top players, including Elliot Anderson, Sandro Tonali and Adam Wharton.
The Mirror claims they are eyeing a summer move for Bournemouth star Alex Scott. The 22-year-old has earned rave reviews for his performances since joining the Cherries in 2023.
He has started 31 matches in the Premier League this season, scoring three goals.
Scott produced a man-of-the-match display against United last month, before scoring the winner at Arsenal.
The Red Devils are impressed with the player’s character and ability to run with the ball and get forward.
However, they face competition from Chelsea, who have also been monitoring him.
Anderson is United’s top midfield target this summer, but the 23-year-old prefers a move to Manchester City. They are in pole position to secure his services.
United have also looked at Tonali, who could push for an exit if Newcastle United fail to secure European qualification.
Wharton is another top midfielder, but a deal for him is not expected to be easy.
Crystal Palace have the England international under contract until 2029, and only a huge offer could convince them to part with him.
